Daniel Wayne Montgomery, 34, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 8:53 pm on April 14, 2024, in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He was born February 23, 1990, in Mount Vernon, Illinois to Mark Oslager and Heather Deanne(Montgomery) Rush.
Daniel is survived by his mother, Heather Rush of Mount Vernon, Illinois; father, Mark Oslager and wife, Michele of Mount Vernon, Illinois; brothers, Jailon Rush and wife, Paige of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Joel Rush of Mount Vernon, Illinois, and Bradie Oslager and wife, Shannon of Columbia, Illinois; sister, Brendalyn Rush of Louisville, Kentucky; son, Brantley Montgomery of Mount Vernon, Illinois; daughter, MaKenzie Mick of Mount Vernon, Illinois; aunts, Amy Neibel and husband, Todd of Carmi, Illinois, Crystal Hemby and husband, Mike of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Karen Harbin of Mount Vernon, Illinois; maternal grandparents, Jerry Montgomery and wife, Beverly of Bonnie, Illinois; paternal grandparents, Bill Oslager and wife, Carmen of Mount Vernon, Illinois; and several cousins, nieces and, nephews.
Daniel was preceded in death by his great-grandparents.
Daniel loved to fish, hunt, and spend time with his family.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Visitation will be held Monday, April 22, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am with Reverend Jerry Montgomery and Brother Mike Kniffen officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Daniel’s honor to a college fund for his children in the care of Heather Rush.
