Vera A. Charlton, age 94 of Salem, passed away on Friday, April 19, 2024, at her daughter’s home in Kell.
Vera was born on July 14, 1929, in Marion County, IL the daughter of John and Lena (Stuber) Boyles. She married Eddie Charlton on March 8, 1946, at the Grace United Methodist Church in Salem and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include her three children, Betty Jane Wallace of California, Charles Charlton and wife Vicki of Kell, and Judith Beckmann and husband Scott of Kell; grandchildren, Mike Wallace, Steve Wallace, Angie Helm and husband Randy, Greg Charlton and wife Jenny, and Jason Allen; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Vera attended First Christian Church in Salem. She was a devoted farm wife for many years. She cherished the time spent with her family.
Graveside services for Vera A. Charlton will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 22, 2024, at Paradise Cemetery in Salem with Phil Martin officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the Donor’s Choice and can be received at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem who is assisting the family with arrangements.
