On April 14, 2024, Linda Darlene Stover went home to heaven. As a young lady, she gave heart to Jesus.
On July 9, 1942, Linda was born to Frank and Alta Williams in Woodlawn, Illinois. October 19, 1957, she married George Robert Stover and was blessed with 61 years of marriage. To this union they had two children, Kela Johnston (Raymond) and Mark Stover, all of Mount Vernon, and four grandchildren Lance Johnston (Mount Vernon), Bryan (Catherine) Johnston of Lakeland, Florida, Emma Stover of Auburndale, Florida, Gracie Stover (David) of Mount Vernon, three great-grandchildren, Sofia, J.J. and Lily.
Linda worked at Renshaw Upholstery and Drapery, Mammoth Department Store, Bank of Illinois, and retired from Orion Oil.
Linda loved antiques, and quilts and was a collector of many things. She never met a stranger and loved to talk. Linda and George both loved helping their neighbors and family.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings, Pat Panizer, Bud Williams, Barbare Simonson-Lipe.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2024, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm with Reverend Bob Dietz officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Linda’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association and the American Cancer Society.
