The Salem Wildcats split their double header at TTown on Saturday. In the opening game, Salem gave up 9 unearned runs in the 4th inning making 3 errors in the frame and lost 10-1. Rhett Detering was too good to take the loss as he went 3.1 allowed 5 hits and 7 runs, but only 1 was earned. Drew Davis finished the game on the mound. At the plate, Salem got 2 hits and 2 RBI from Jalen Inlow. Josh Powless and Noah Nix had the other hits.
Salem bounced back and won the 2nd game 4-3. Noah Nix went 6.1 allowing 7 hits and no earned runs with 11 strikeouts and no walks. Colton Shelton got the final 2 outs for the save. Kam Wilkins had 2 RBI. Griffin Day also drove in a run, sophomore Keaton Gullion scored the winning run in the 3rd inning to give Salem a 4-1 lead at the time.
