A Salem man and a Centralia man both face drug charges following a traffic stop on West McCord Street in Centralia early Wednesday morning.
Centralia Police arrested both the driver, 30-year-old Jeremy Lippert of Salem, and passenger, 30-year-old Scott Anderson of Crestwood Lane in Centralia.
Anderson was charged in Clinton County Court with a Class X felony of unlawful possession with intent to deliver 15 to 100 grams of methamphetamine and possession of 15 to 100 grams of meth. Bond was set at $100,000 and the public defender was appointed to represent Anderson.
Lippert was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a hypodermic syringe, driving on a revoked license, and operating a vehicle with suspended registration. Bond was set at $15,000 with the public defender appointed.
Centralia Police say Lippert was initially arrested for driving on a revoked license. He allegedly was found with two unused hypodermic needles and less than a gram of meth in his possession.
Police report Anderson was reportedly digging around in the waist band of his pants when they discovered a small baggie of white substance that field tested for methamphetamine sitting in the center console. Anderson was then allegedly found in possession of a zipper baggie with two other baggies inside that allegedly contained more methamphetamine along with 50 small clean baggies. Police say the total amount of meth in Anderson’s possession totaled 22.1 grams.
