The National Weather Service says South Central Illinois is a large band where there is a moderate risk of severe weather activity late Friday afternoon.   The most likely time for severe storms is from four to six pm.  However, it’s too early to say how the storms will form, as several severe lines of storms or pockets of severe weather.  The storms should clear the area by 9 pm.   The storms are on a strong cold front that will drop temperatures by Saturday morning to 42, with Saturday’s high topping out at 48.

There is a wind advisory that will go into effect at one Friday afternoon and remain in effect until one Saturday morning.  Wind gusts could be as high as 50 miles per hour.
