Jeanette H. Dippold, 89, of Farina, passed away peacefully at 12:25 AM Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham, Illinois.
Born to Philip S. May and Lillie Leonard Schneider May on January 19, 1935, in Farina, Illinois. Jeanette married John “Jack” Dippold on March 31, 1953, in Hernando, Mississippi. They celebrated 70 years of marriage before his death on August 24, 2023. She is survived by her three children: Janet Duecker and husband Donald of Taylorville, Steven Dippold and wife Linda of Farina and Carol Sporleder and husband Larry of Farina; 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Louise Dippold and Anne Schultetus; several nieces and nephews; and her dog, Sadie Jeanette was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved people and never knew a stranger. She and Jack enjoyed music and dancing. They square danced into their 70s and she was a member of the Heartland Honey’s dance group.Jeanette worked many years as a nurse’s aide and ward clerk in the Fayette County Health Care System. In addition to her husband: John “Jack” Dippold, parents: Philip and Lillie May, she was also preceded in death by her brothers: Philip May, Jr. and wife Helen, Charles May and wife Ethel, Delmar Schneider, Pete Schneider and wife Evelyn, and Earl Schneider and wife Evelyn, sisters: Estelle Mikkelsen and husband Erik, Dorothy Lacey and husband Morris, brothers-in-law: Charles Dippold and wife Beverly, James Dippold, and Roland Schultetus, and sisters-in-law: Doris Starkey and husband Jack and Carolee Reeter and husband Earl. Funeral Services for Jeanette Dippold will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at noon at the Farina United Methodist Church with Pastor Kevin Kriesel officiating. Burial will follow at Farina Cemetery in Farina. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church.
