A fire destroyed L and G Tires at 416 Cormick in Centralia along with at least three vehicles and a carport.

Centralia City Firemen believe a propane heater started the fire.  The 50 by 70-foot building was engulfed in flames upon the department’s arrival.   There were four vehicles inside the business.  Two were destroyed while the other two may be repairable.

The fire also spread out a window to a carport next to the building.  The carport and the vehicle underneath it were both destroyed.   The fire was hot enough it also broke out five windows and melted the siding on a home next to the carport.   The vehicle, carport, and house were all leased to Debbie Godwin at 903 North Elm.   The home is owned by Brandon Swartzlander.

All available Centralia City Firemen were called to the scene.  The Centralia Fire Protection District was called for mutual aid assistance.  Sandoval Firemen stood by at the Centralia Fire Station in the event of another fire.

The fire call came in at 10:40 Friday morning, with firemen on the scene for about two hours.
