2023 03/15 – Robert Eugene ‘Bob’ Hodge

Robert Eugene “Bob” Hodge, 76, of Paris, Texas, formerly of Centralia, Illinois passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024. He was born on February 17, 1948, the son of Harry and Cecil (Sessions) Hodge in Odin.

Survivors who will remember Bob as a loving, supportive family man include his beloved children, Cindy Benjamin of Odin, Rodney Hodge of Salem, Robby Hodge of Minnesota, Kelly Butler and husband Eric of Texas; cherished grandchildren, Ricky Dobyns Jr., Brittany Murray, Todd Murray, Ian Soper, Kade Soper, Kaylee Finney, Robby Hodge, and Allison Burton; several precious great-grandchildren; dear sisters, Melba Nolte, and Mary Ann Hubbell; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Cecil Hodge; brothers, Leon Hodge, Eugene Hodge, Kenny Hodge, and Curt Hodge; and sister, Darlene Levart.

Bob was a loyal employee for over 20 years as a trackman for Union Pacific Railroad. He was a Cubbie through and through, cheering his favorite team, the Chicago Cubs on to victory, from a young age. Bob was a master storyteller who loved to share his exciting adventures from working on the railroad. Bob had a kind heart, worked hard to provide for his family, enjoyed time spent with his children and grandchildren, and simply made the world a better place. Bob’s memory will be treasured, and he will be dearly missed by all who loved him.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2023, at Peaceful Valley Cemetery in Odin with Brother Claude Howell officiating.
