Eunice P. Spindler, 78, of Hoffman, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on February 20, 1946, the daughter of Charles Sr. and Alma (Kaufman) Borgmann in Okawville. She married the love of her life, Charles “Charlie” Spindler in Carlyle on June 21, 1974, and he preceded her in death on December 22, 2020.

Survivors include her beloved daughter, Pamela Spindler of Hoffman; her siblings, Henry Borgmann, Hadley Borgmann, June Hull, Judy Stonecipher, Earl Borgmann, Carolyn Pille, and Marilyn Debose; her in-laws on her husband’s side of the family; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Along with her husband of 46 years, Charlie Spindler, Eunice was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Sr. and Alma Borgmann; her siblings, Charles Borgmann II, Audrey Lee, Jackie Bergkoetter, Dwight Borgmann, Henrietta Borgmann, Byron Borgmann, and Bruce Borgmann.

Eunice was a loyal employee of Warren G. Murray Center in Centralia for 35 years. She worked in dietary and as a tech, and her husband Charlie worked there as well. Eunice was grateful for her marriage and loved sharing life with Charlie. The couple enjoyed going to country music concerts, and cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals together, debating who their best player was. She liked to go to bingo, watching closely over her cards to call out Bingo for the win. Eunice was very crafty, creating fun crafts and crocheting while watching television. She kept up on current events while reading the newspaper and could inform her family of the latest. Eunice was an excellent cook who scanned Taste of Home for recipes she knew her family would find delicious. Eunice was a sweet lady, who was kind to everyone, and she will be deeply missed.

A graveside service to celebrate the lives of Charlie and Eunice Spindler will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Elmwood Cemetery in Centralia with Chaplain Joannie Naraghi officiating. Memorials may be made in Eunice’s honor to the family’s wishes and will be accepted at the funeral home.
