Lillian Ruth Smith, age 87 of Xenia, passed away on March 3, 2024, at her home in Xenia with her family at her side.
Lillian was born on June 26, 1936, in Meacham Township in Marion County, Illinois, the daughter of Herbert and Myrtle Agnes (McEyea) Tate. She married Kenneth Robb and together they had two children, Samuel, and Helen. Kenneth preceded her in death in 1961. She later married James Smith and they shared 44 years united in marriage until his passing in 2009.
Survivors include her children, Samuel Robb of Xenia, and Helen Marie (Robb) Delzell of Xenia; grandchildren, Annette Robb, Sean Delzell, and Molly Delzell; and great-grandchildren, Lillian and Liam Delzell and Landin Binnion
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands Kenneth and James; daughter-in-law, Darla Robb; and son-in-law, Layton Delzell
Lillian was a member of the Orchardville Community Church. She worked for 20 years in various factories but retired from Murray Center in Centralia after a 20-year career with the facility. Lillian had many hobbies during her life, but most of all she loved spending time with her family and serving in her church.
Funeral services for Lillian Ruth Smith will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Rick Hays officiating. Burial will follow at the Henson Cemetery in rural Wayne County. There will be a visitation on Thursday, March 7th at the funeral home from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the Orchardville Community Church and will be received at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem who is assisting the family with arrangements.
