Martha Evelyn Malcolm, 93, of Odin, passed away peacefully at Helia Healthcare of Salem on February 19, 2024. She was born June 17, 1930, to Richard and Matilda (Gosser) Gregory.
She is survived by her daughter Theresa and husband Loyd Slater of Salem; 2 special nieces of Mt. Vernon: Francis Kirkpatrick and Helen Sims. Surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Also, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Matilda; 10 siblings; her husband Rev. Melvin Malcolm; two sons: Ricky Lynn Malcolm and Rodney Kent Malcolm, and one grandson Christopher Paul Slater.
She was a member and Sunday School teacher of the first General Baptist Church of Salem, for many years. In her lifetime she worked as a secretary, then opened a floral business in Odin, and opened an upholstery business with her husband.

A graveside service will be held to honor Martha at 2 pm on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
