Centralia Police have arrested a 70-year-old Centralia man for alleged forgery of multiple checks.
Loran Hill of Patriot Road is accused of taking a checkbook from another person and cashing at least four of them totaling $1,200. A fifth check currently has not been located.
Police report a bank teller knew the man who had cashed the checks and video surveillance allegedly confirmed Hill was allegedly the one who presented three checks at a Centralia bank and a fourth at a Mt. Vernon bank.
Police took Hill into custody at his home on Monday. He was taken to the Marion County Jail but was later released pending further investigation.
