Shirley Lou Harting, 88, of Centralia, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.Shirley came into this life on May 24, 1935, born to Vince Davis and Mary Olive (McCoughlin) Davis in Salem, Illinois. She married Gerald Harting and he preceded her in death.Shirley left behind her son: David Harting and his wife Jana of Center Point, Indiana; two grandchildren: Andi Harting of Center Point, Indiana, and Bradley Harting of Brownsburg, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.Upon her passing, Shirley was reunited with her husband: Gerald, parents: Vince and Mary Davis; sister: Susie Presswood; and brothers: Oliver Davis and Bill Davis.Shirley worked at a number of different places throughout life. She worked at Jimmy’s Jewelry, Wolenhaupt Jewelry, and Murray Center. She was strong in her faith and was a lifelong member of Mt. Moriah Church. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her.Per the wishes of Shirley Harting’s family, no public services will take place and private family services will be held. The family of Shirley would like for any monetary donations made in her memory to go to the Alzheimer’s Association and can be accepted by Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 N.
