2024 01/29 – Judith ‘Judy’ Kay Huber Watson

Judith “Judy” Kay Huber Watson, 67, of Vernon, passed away Friday, January 26, 2024, at her home.

She was born February 14, 1956, in Jefferson City, Missouri, the daughter of Arthur Huber and Zita (Brunnert) Huber. She married the love of her life, James Watson, on December 30, 1978, in Salem, Missouri and he survives.

In addition to her husband of 45 years, James Watson of Vernon, Judy was also survived by her son: Justin Watson of Vernon; daughter: Ashley Watson of Greenville; two granddaughters: Angel and Judith both of Greenville; one sister: Janet Schaefer of Osage City, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Arthur and Zita Huber, one step-son: Jimmie W. Watson, and two brothers: Harry Huber and Thomas Huber

Judy graduated from Fatima High School in Westphalia, Missouri, class of 1974. She worked for Fayco Enterprises until her retirement in 2021 and she also worked at the Sweetbriar Retirement Home in Vandalia, Illinois. Judy had a tradition of always attending the Illinois State Fair in Springfield and also in DuQuoin. She loved going to drag races and showing off her husband’s 1965 Impala at local car shows. The biggest passion in Judy’s life was her grandkids and her family.

Per Judy’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no public service will be held.
