Neelu Vig, 65, of Centralia, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
Neelu was born February 9, 1958, in Delhi, India, the daughter of Narain Pershad Mahindra and Nirmala (Khanna) Mahindra. She married Dr. Pradeep Vig on June 24, 1981, in Delhi, India and he survives her in Centralia after 42 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband Pradeep, she is survived by one son: Dr. Dhruv Vig of San Diego, CA; one daughter: Dr. Sanjana Vig and her husband Mr. Matthew Garcia of San Diego, CA; uncle: Dr. Narinder Khanna and wife Sharon of Springfield, IL; 5 sisters in India; and several nieces and nephews.
Neelu was preceded in death by her parents: Narain Pershad Mahindra and Nirmala Mahindra.
Neelu was renowned among her family and friends for her exquisite culinary skills, versatile gardening expertise, and cherished moments spent with loved ones. Her zest for life extended to a love for travel, energetic dancing, and singing religious hymns. With a deep-seated passion for arts and crafts, she crafted numerous unique figurines over the years and connected with people through the shared joy of playing cards.
She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.A Prayer Service for Neelu Vig will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 11:00 am at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm at the Funeral Home.
