Clarence E. Michael, 87, of Iuka, Illinois, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at Flora Gardens in Flora, Illinois.
He was born April 3, 1936, in Romine Township, to his parents, Minnie (Pashon) and Warren Michael. December 31, 1955, he married Twyla Vest, who preceded him in death on January 1, 2020.
Clarence was retired from the Illinois Central Railroad, where he worked as a carman for 42 years. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time in the outdoors. Clarence and Twyla raised their two children, Pam and Lee, in Orchardville, where they were surrounded by family and friends.
He is survived by a son, Lee Michael of Iuka, IL; brother-in-law, Paul (Jean) Vest of Johnsonville, IL, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Twyla, he was preceded in death by his parents: Minnie (Pashon) and Warren Michael, daughter: Pam Chobanian, son-in-law: Paul Chobanian, sister: Pauline Dial, and brother-in-law: Earl Dial.
