Janet L. Wilkins, 75, of Centralia, passed away Monday, January 8, 2024, at SSM Health DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, Missouri.She was born June 8, 1948, in Salem, the daughter of Vern Walter Schoonover and Amy Kathleen (McIntosh) Schoonover. She married Jim Sommerville and they later divorced. In 1972 Janet married Morris “Dale” Wilkins and he preceded her in death.Janet is survived by her two children: Matt Sommerville and wife Angie of Salem and Amy Barlow and husband Ronnie of Centralia; four grandchildren and one great-grandchildren; three sisters: Louise Bowling of Decatur, Marilyn Schoonover of Carlyle and Diana Reichmann and husband Ted of Richview; and several nieces and nephews.Janet worked at St. Mary’s Hospital for 25 years as a CNA until she retired. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and collecting pig figurines. She would always listen to Elvis Presley. Janet loved her family and spending time with her grandkids.Cremation Rites will be accorded and no public service will be held.
