2024 01/11 – James David Williams

James David “JD” Williams, 83, of Patoka, IL passed away Saturday, January 6, 2024, at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.

He was born on May 29, 1940, the son of David LeRoy and Lois A. (Stephens) Williams in Peoria. He married Bobbie Dee Blakley at Patoka on May 30, 1992, and she preceded him in death in 2002.

Along with his wife, Bobbie Williams, JD was preceded in death by his parents.

JD was a member of the Patoka Pentecostal Church for over 30 years, where he was grateful to serve the community alongside his church family. He was an accomplished athlete, who was honored to be inducted into the Bradley Sports Hall of Fame for his accomplishments in both baseball and football. JD was a member of the Colonial Gold Course in Sandoval and looked forward to playing golf any chance he got. JD was appreciative of all of his family members and thankful for his bond with his special cousins, Janet and Janice. All of his cousins and their children were very close to JD.

All family and friends are invited to a memorial service being held at the Patoka Pentecostal Church on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at 6:00 PM with Pastor Richard French officiating.

A celebration of life service will be held by the family at a later date, and James will be laid to rest alongside his mother and wife in Patoka Cemetery.
