The Governor is expressing optimism that the Pre-Trial Fairness Act will be allowed to be implemented. But if that doesn’t happen, he says they will be back at it.
“The court system will make a ruling through the Supreme Court sometime in the next few months. I’m disappointed that there is a delay in the implementation. Justice shouldn’t be delayed. And we want our neighborhoods to be safer and putting Pre-Trial Fairness Act will make our neighborhoods safer.”
Governor Pritzker says he’s confident the Law is Constitutional and says he expects a ruling sometime in the next few months. In the meantime, the State Supreme Court has issued a stay while the matter is under review.
