Anna May Gaston, age 91 of Salem, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at Twin Willows Nursing Center in Salem with her family at her side.
Anna was born on May 2, 1932, in Miami, Florida the daughter of Howard W. and Elizabeth (Manna) Scheidt. She married David Gaston in 1999 in Reno, Nevada, and together they shared 24 years of marriage and he survives in Salem.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Rick H. Toth and wife Nancy, Michael J. Toth and fiancée Dawn Jayne, James R. Toth and wife Carrie, Elizabeth A. Toth and husband Quannah Parker and JoAnna M. Toth; step-daughter, Lori Martino; grandchildren, Christopher Austin, Kurtis Borowiak, Allison Toth, and Nick Toth; step-grandchildren, Melissa O’Brien and Ashley Garber; two great grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Gary May; half-brother, Bobby LaRocca; and grandson, Joshua Toth.
Anna was of the Catholic Faith. She worked as a secretary for Magazine Mailers and later worked at the Moose Lodge until retirement. She loved to cook, especially preparing holiday meals and making hundreds of cookies for Christmas. After retirement, she was able to travel to 48 states with her husband David.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at East Lawn Cemetery in Salem with Josh Woolford officiating. Crouse Funeral Home in Salem is assisting the family with arrangements.
