Rose L. Guthrie, 77, of Centralia, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born July 2, 1946, in Bloomington, the daughter of Oscar Lee Allen and Margaret (Quaid) Allen. She married Robert “Bob” Guthrie in 1967 and he preceded her in death on August 27, 2022, after 55 years of marriage.
Rose is survived by her two daughters: Robin Simpson and husband Heath of Odin and Renae Guthrie of Salem; four grandchildren: A.J. Simpson and fiancé Summer Kirgan, Holden Simpson, Lily Simpson, and Parker Simpson; and two great-grandchildren: Hudson and Jaxson; two bonus grandchildren: Lexi Hall and Mia Miller; and also a sister: Kay Harpenau.Rose was preceded in death by her parents: Oscar and Margaret Allen; and husband: Robert “Bob” Guthrie.
Rose was a beautician for many years working at multiple hair salons in Centralia. She liked to crotchet, knit, and sew. Her family was everything to her, especially her grandchildren.
Per Rose’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded and a Private Family Service will be held at a later date.
