The Odin School Board has voted to keep its property tax increase at 4.99-percent of this year’s tax levy.   The board had an opportunity to increase the levy to 6.08-percent, but decided last month to keep the rate under five-percent so they would not have to have a truth in taxation hearing.

Principal Quinton Marcum reported the Regional Office of Education and Fire Marshal’s office have toured the renovated high school and other building improvements made over the summer.  He reports they were very complementary of the changes and only had some minor issues that still needed to be corrected.  Marcum says the district is working on those issues.

The board was told the Ho-Co held along with the only home basketball game hosted by Odin as part of its basketball cooperative with Patoka went well and the gym was packed for the game.   Patoka students were invited to Odin for the Ho-Co while Odin students were invited to Patoka’s homecoming in turn.
