The Marion County State’s Attorney’s office has elected not to file armed robbery charges against two people arrested Wednesday pending further investigation.
Central City Police had arrested 30-year-old Chyan Phillips of County Farm Road in Kell and 21-year-old Cameron Ross of Frazier Street in Centralia for allegedly taking a small amount of money from a man who they reportedly were making a drug transaction at his apartment on South Broadway.
However, Phillips was charged with possession of under five grams of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of adult use cannabis by a passenger, and possession of drug paraphernalia after the items were allegedly found in a traffic stop that led to her arrest. Bond was set at $5,000 and Phillips was later released from the Marion County Jail after posting $500 cash.
Ross also appeared in court Thursday on an outstanding Marion County misdemeanor warrant for criminal damage to property. Bond on the warrant was set at $2,500 and he was released on $250 cash bond. He was later located by police after Phillips had been taken into custody.
