Both Salem Mayor Nic Farley and Centralia Mayor Bryan Kuder are unopposed for re-election next April.
In Centralia, both incumbents Robert ‘Spanky’ Smith and Blake Griffin decided not to run again leaving Isreal ‘Izzy’ Fontanez and Barri Allen unopposed for the two open city council seats.
In Salem, two more filed petitions for the two open city council seats on Monday. They are incumbent Craig Morton and Tracey Crouch. The two will face off against Neal Cannon, Jeff Baldridge, and Jacob Hockett who all filed earlier. Current appointed council person Amy Troutt earlier announced she would not seek election due to time constraints on her new job at Kaskaskia College.
