The Salem Lady Cats dropped the opening game of the DuQuoin Thanksgiving Tournament falling to Christopher 55-24. Salem trailed 16-8 after the opening quarter and 27-17 at the half. Emma Gregg led the Lady Cats with 6, and Jordyn Kessler added 4 with 3 each from Natalie Lee and Alisia Keller. Salem returns to action tomorrow at 6 pm against DuQuoin.
South Central opened their season with a loss to CHBC 67-47. Brooklyn Garrett led SC with 13 and Taegan Webster finished with 12. The Lady Cougars JV also fell 25-15. SC will be back in action tonight at home against Casey Westfield.
Also last night, Columbia beat Alton Marquette 40-30, Benton over Marion 71-54, Pinckneyville beat Cairo 81-23, Breese Central over Hillsboro 61-40, Woodlawn lost to Englewood STEM 64-7, Mascoutah fell to Peoria 36-21.
