In Class 1a regional openers at South Central, the host Lady Cougars improved to 27-7 on the season with their 25-7, 25-10 win over Mulberry Grove. They will play St Elmo Brownstown in a semifinal match on Wednesday. Brooke Cowger had 7 kills and Emma Jenne 8 in the win. St Elmo advanced following their 25-23, 25-16 win over CHBC.
Quarterfinals continue in Farina today when North Clay takes on Clay City at 6pm followed by Patoka and Altamont at 7.
Also in 1a Christ Our Rock beat Marissa at Okawville 25-21, 25-13. Carlyle won their opening post season match with Lovejoy by forfeit. Zeigler beat Sesser at Zeigler.
Tonight, Windsor takes on Casey at Kansas, Sandoval will play the hosts at Okawville followed by Father McGivney and Lebanon.
