The Iuka Fire Protection District has now joined Salem Fire Protection District and several other fire departments in putting a burn ban into effect due to the elevated fire risk from dry and windy conditions. Sandoval implemented a burn ban on Saturday night. All are until further notice.
The Kell Fire Protection District has a burn ban in effect until there is some rain to help with the extremely dry conditions.
The Jefferson Fire Protection District has a burn ban in effect until six Tuesday afternoon.
The Mt. Vernon City Fire Department has a ban in effect until eight Monday morning.
The City of Centralia canceled its burn weekend this Saturday and Sunday. The next regularly scheduled burn dates are planned for November 5th and 6th unless conditions would continue.
Both Salem and Centralia begin leaf vacuum collection on Monday following your regular garbage collection day.
