The Salem girls and boys cross country teams both qualified for this Saturday’s sectionals at Dodds Park in Champaign. The girls were 5th as a team led by Breanna Thurman who was 16th overall. Macey Thorsen was 19, Aila Laird 27th, Eden Russell 29 and Ivy Donoho 45. Kensey Jarret and Audrey Lybarger also competed.
Robby Shober was 16th leading the boys to their qualifying 6th place. Hunter Malan was 32, Branson Pappas 35, Titus Churchill 42 and Drew Davis 46 to round out the scoring. Jacob Ware and Ricardo Salgado also competed. The girls will race at 10 and the boys at 11 on Saturday for a trip to state.
The Centralia Annies advanced as a team out of the Highland Regional finishing 4th. Raelyn Daering was 15th, Aurora Amason 25, Sophia Meyer 26, Riley Lusch 29, Reagan Cross 30 and Alli Lammers 31.
