The Salem Wildcats will close down their football season tonight and honor their seniors as they welcome the Charleston Trojans. The Trojans season will end after tonight as well as they enter at 3-5 on the year. Game time at 7pm on 100.1 FM and WJBDradio.com.
4 Cahokia Mississippi teams have either qualified or can qualify for the playoffs with games tonight. Roxana is 5-3 and will be at home against Alton Marquette. Breese Central is in at 6-2, as they will be at Herrin. Columbia is also 6-2 and in as they will host Jerseyville. Wood River is 6-2 and already in as well and they will travel to Red Bud. The Freeburg Midgets will finish their season tonight when they host Waterloo.
The Centralia Orphans are 5-3 and need a win tonight to guarantee themselves a spot in Week 10. They will be at home with 7-1 Collinsville so it will not be an easy task. Mount Vernon is 4-4 but is the Conference champion so they will be in the playoffs no matter what. They close down their season with a trip to undefeated Mt Carmel. Althoff has 4 wins and needs one at Alton tonight while Cahokia also sits at 4 wins and needs a win at O’Fallon who is 7-1. Marion is 5-3 and will play at Mattoon who struggled this year at 1-7.
The South Central Conference will finish up tonight. Pana and Virden North Mac currently sit at 7-1 at the top of the league. Pana will host Carlinville who needs a win to punch their playoff ticket. Virden will host Staunton, a team out of the playoff picture. The Vandals are 6-2 and in the playoffs as they try to improve their seeding when they travel to rival Greenville who is 4-4 and needs a win to at least qualify for a spot.
