Sandoval High School Homecoming is being expanded to a community event this weekend.

Activity gets underway at 2:30 Friday afternoon when the Grade School Halloween Parade, featuring the Homecoming Court, will be held.

The parade will be followed by an Old-Fashioned ‘Chili Supper’ at the high school from 4:30 until it is gone.  A bonfire is planned near the baseball field behind the school from six to ten Friday night.

On Saturday, a vendor fair/business expo is planned downtown from nine am to two pm.   Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from US 50 to Commercial Street.  Activities are also planned from Main Street to the new Library, but Commercial Street will remain open to traffic.

Village Administrator LeAnn Speicer says some Sandoval area businesses will have displays to promote their products and discuss job opportunities.  The Sandoval Band will play from nine to 11.  A Pet Costume Contest will be held at eleven.  Studio 50 and a karate demonstration is planned at noon.

The Sandoval Police Department will hand out Glo Sticks and Trick or Treat bags for next week.  You’ll be able to see work done on the cemetery mapping and get assistance in signing up for the village’s Nixel program.

The Sandoval Fire Department will also have a display, there will be food vendors, and the Library will be holding a used book sale.

The homecoming at Sandoval High School will conclude the activities at six Saturday night.
