A 27-year-old Centralia man has been arrested in connection with the theft of two four wheelers and an electric bike.
Anthony Hernandez of North Hickory was taken into custody after he was found at a disturbance in the 300 block of North Hickory Street. In addition to the three counts of possession of stolen property, Hernandez was also arrested for resisting arrest after trying to avoid being handcuffed and battery.
Centralia Police say Hernandez is accused of taking one of the four wheelers from a home in the 500 block of West 5th on June 1st. He’s then accused of taking another four wheeler from a home in the 700 block of South Cherry Street on June 3rd. The electric bike was reported stolen from a pole barn in the 1600 block of West McCord.
Police report all three of the vehicles were earlier recovered from a garage at his mother’s home where Hernandez was allegedly storing them.
Meanwhile, Centralia Police took 46-year-old Sherry Altom of North Broadway in Central City at the disturbance into custody on outstanding Marion and Clinton County warrants. The Marion County warrant is for failure to appear on a possession of methamphetamine and a Clinton County warrant for failure to appear on a retail theft case. Altom was taken to the Clinton County Jail at Carlyle.
