A 51-year-old Centralia man has been arrested on multiple charges following the execution of a search warrant on his home early Wednesday morning.

David Hopper of South Elm Street is being held for alleged possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of ammunition by a felon, armed habitual criminal, armed violence and possession of stolen property.

The Centralia Police Department High-Risk Team was joined by the ILEAS high risk team to execute a search warrant on a home in the 1,000 block of South Elm Street Wednesday morning.

Police Lieutenant Steve Whritenour says the search warrant was executed and the two occupants were taken into custody without incident.  The second person in the house was questioned and released.

As a precaution, South Elm traffic was detoured beginning at six am until the two were in custody.

Centralia Junior High officials were also notified due to the proximately to the school, but the scene had been cleared before students were scheduled to arrive.
