The Centralia City Council will be asked to pass a resolution Monday night to seek an Open Space Land Acquisition and Development or OSLAD grant for improvements to Fairview Park.  The grant application is for $600,000 for outdoor recreation improvements and enhancements that include restrooms, baseball/softball field maintenance shed, sidewalks, playground equipment for tot lots, multi-sport court, and upgrades to the basketball court.

The council will be asked to approve a $207,725 bid from TEK Construction, Inc. for sanitary sewer extension on Meadow Lane. They were the lowest of three bidders.

A request is being made to change the 200 block of South Walnut from multi-family residential to central business district.  The planning commission has already approved the change.

The council will be asked to approve a resolution for joint funding agreement with IDOT for Gragg Street road improvements.  80-percent of the cost of the widening and reconstruction from Lincoln Boulevard to Country Club Road will come from IDOT.  The city’s share is estimated at $322,762.

Bids will be opened for the sale of eight surplus properties.

The meeting begins at six Monday night at Centralia City Hall.
