The Salem City Council Monday night will hear additional information from Salem Emergency Management Agency Assistant Coordinator Andrew Strong about starting a drone program. City Manager Rex Barbee says the initial drone and accessories would be paid for through donations and grants already pledged. Future improvements in the program could also be funded through grant programs.
The council will also be asked to approve the purchase of a replacement/remanufactured radiator that is leaking in a generator at the Salem Water Treatment Plant. Barbee says the generator is essential to the operation of the treatment plant. He reports that Fabick Tractor can provide a remanufactured radiator and installation for $11,681.
The council will consider approval of a special use permit for ATVs and More to hold a Customer Appreciation event at their location on West Main Street on October 22nd that will have several types of vendors and contests. The Salem Planning Commission has already given its approval.
The Salem City Council meeting begins at six at Salem City Hall.
