Bobcats Get Combined No-Hitter In 8th Grade Night Win
Franklin Park honored their 8th graders and then went on to pound Casey Mt Vernon 20-0 in 3 innings. Payton Gullion and Max Vincent combined for the no-hitter as Gullion went 2-1 striking out 5 and Vincent got the final 2 outs. At the plate, Silas Lux homered for the first time, Evan Barnes came through with 3 doubles and he drove in 5 going 3-3 on the day. Keytin Grawe also doubled going 2-2 with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored. Landon Maxey scored 3 times, Payton Gullion scored twice, Kyler King singled and scored, Avery Gullion singled and scored twice, Jaret Gibson had a hit and run, Landon Tennyson singled home a run and scored and Max Vincent had a hit, RBI and 2 runs scored. Salem is 16-4 on the season and return to action today at Olney.
SC & Altamont Lutheran Play To 5-5 Tie
South Central and Altamont Lutheran played to a 5-5 tie after 9 innings. Sebastian Kruger had a triple, double and drove in a run while scoring twice for SC. Ryker Dodson had 2 hits and drove in 2 runs with RBI also from Luke Shumate and Tyson Jones. Garret Shumate scored twice, Colton Cartright had 2 hits with singles also from Colton Tockstein and Aidan Hoover. Luke Shumate started and went 6.1 allowing 4 hits and 4 runs, but none were earned, striking out 8. Dodson allowed 2 hits and 1 run in 2.2 innings.
Selmaville’s Mid-Game Rally Leads Them Over Trinity/St Mary
Selmaville beat Trinity St Mary’s 6-2 scoring 3 times in the 4th to take the lead. Wyatt McCarty doubled as part of his 3-hit day. Kai Graham, Logan Butts and Zane Dodson each had 2 hits and drove in a run. Nicholi Mahrenka added a single, Tripp Garden and Jaxon Ward scored runs. McCarty was the winning pitcher going 5 innings allowing 8 hits and 2 runs, none earned, with 10 strikeouts.
