Lady Bobcats Get No-Hitter Over Casey On 8th Grade Day
The Lady Bobcats earned a 15-0 win over Casey Mt Vernon on 8th grade day. Brylee Pennypacker earned the win striking out 4. Mya Russell and Emma Lipe also threw for Salem. All 3 pitchers combined to throw a no-hitter. At the plate, Russell drove in 3, Pennypacker hit her first home run of the season, Quinn Wolfe scored 3 times. Allison Thurman, Breylin Winchester, Morgan Honerkamp and Emma Lipe also had hits. Salem will travel to Olney this afternoon.
Selmaville Gets Win Over Carlyle JV
Selmaville knocked off the Carlyle JV 15-14. Shelby Johnson and Kaolin Lewis each went 3-3 at the plate and Kenna Benjamin added 2 hits. Lewis was the winning pitcher in relief. The Lady Rockets travel to Patoka today.
Rome Stays Undefeated
Rome improved to 15-0 after a 13-0 win over Sandoval. Taylor DeSmith went 3-4 at the plate driving in 4 runs. Makenzie Long was the winning pitcher going 3 innings allowing no hits and no runs with 7 strikeouts. DeSmith, Isabella Decker and Sophia Decker each had multiple hits for Rome.
Iuka Knocks Off Raccoon
Iuka beat Raccoon 15-9. Kenley Cripps got her first win in the circle striking out 9. Katee Sellers went 2-3 with a home run and 5 RBI. Cripps had a hit and drove in a run, Kenzie McGinnis had a hit and RBI, Elaina Dial also had a hit. Iuka will welcome West Salem for 8th grade night today.
Lady Falcons Play In IESA Regional Finals Today
In IESA Regional action today, South Central will take on St Anthony in the Effingham Regional Championship.
