Bobcats Make It 10 Straight With Comeback Over TTown

The Salem Bobcats ran their winning streak to 10 straight and are 14-2 after an improbable 9-8 comeback win over Teutopolis.  Salem trailed 5-0 after 2 innings.  Salem got home runs from Evan Barnes and Kyler King to cut the deficit to 6-3.  With 2 on in the inning, Payton Gullion laced a single to score 2 runs and tie the game.  He was followed up by a double off the left field fence by Avery Gullion to give Salem the lead.  Up 9-6 in the seventh, TTown got a long home run to cut the deficit to 1 with 2 outs.  Evan Barnes who came in as a reliever in the 2nd inning, ran out of pitches and Payton Gullion came in to get the final out for the save.  King, Payton and Avery Gullion each drove in 2 runs, Barnes and Landen Maxey added RBI as Maxey had 2 hits along with Payton Gullion.  The Bobcats are off until Tuesday when they travel to Flora.


Falcons Win JNTC Showdown

The SC Falcons return to action today when they host Vandalia coming off a 5-0 home win over Dieterich as both teams entered unbeaten in the JNTC.  SC pitching allowed just 1 Roadrunner hit.  Luke Shumate worked the first 5 innings struck out 11 and walked just 3, Colton Cartright worked the final 2 innings.  At the plate, Kaiden Harrell had 2 hits and drove in 2, Sebastian Kruger went 2-3 and had the other SC RBI, Garret Shumate scored twice, Luke added a run.  Cartright and Tyson Jones had 2 hits each and Aidan Hoover also singled.
