Salem Hosts COR, Centralia & Mt Vernon Tuesday For Cross Country Meet

Salem hosted a prep cross country meet yesterday.

The Lady Cats were 2^nd behind Centralia. Breanna Thurman led Salem with 2^nd place overall. Macey Thorsen was 6^th and Aila Laird 10^th.

The boys were 3^rd out of 4 teams. Hunter Malan led Salem with 5^th place, Robby Shober 10^th and Ricardo Salgado 15^th. Salem races again Saturday at Granite City.

Christ Our Rock was also in Salem running. Junior Sarah McKowen won the race overall in 19:03. Rylee Brammier also medaled grabbing 7^th, Alexis Livesay was 23^rd.

On the boys side, Elijah Gregor was 3^rd in a time of 15:44. Zerek Koch was 13^th, Isaiah Lyons 23^rd, Thomas Taylor was 26^th and Liagel Lyons was 29^th. The Christ Our Rock Cross Country Team will compete at Murphysboro.

Centralia won the girls event with 31 points followed by Salem with 60, Mt Vernon 80 and no team score for Christ Our Rock.

In the boys event, Mt Vernon was 1^st with 22 points, Centralia 67, Salem 68 and COR 94.
