Salem Police report five people have been arrested in connection with the theft of items from the Salem Walmart store over the weekend.

A 14-year-old female from Mt. Vernon, a 15-year-old female from Salem, a 15-year-old male from Salem, and a 17-year-old male juvenile from Salem were all given notices to appear for retail theft.

A person who reportedly drove all four to Walmart for the alleged retail theft, 18-year-old Jackson Eagan of US 50 in Iuka, was arrested on a city ordinance violation warrant for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Salem Police says loss prevention at Walmart discovered $266 in items taken by the four juveniles during their first trip into the store on Saturday.  The group then reportedly returned on Sunday when more items were taken.  Salem Police were called when the group came back a third time on Sunday night reportedly with plans to steal a wall mount for a TV.

Salem Police report most of the items allegedly taken were small, such as a pack of gum, toothbrush, and posters, but also include cubicle storage units.
