The Centralia City Council has a full agenda Monday night, including an agreement to allow further development of Castle Ridge, approve the appointment of a new police chief, and appoint a committee to study a new outdoor pool.

The amended Development Agreement with Meadow Woods Holdings, LLC would increase the cap size of the amount of money that can be obtained through the tax increment financing district from $2.5-million to $5.75-million and increase the sales tax rebate to 80-percent of the special 1-cent sales tax collected at Castle Ridge.  This increased funding will allow for the construction of four lodges and 12 cabins or a combination of 28 rooms in 2024, a non-motorized water craft watercourse and launch site in 2028 and the construction of six single-family residential estate homes in 2029.

The council will be asked to approve a contract with the new Police Chief Christopher Locke who is scheduled to start work on September 12th.

The Fairview Park Pool Committee will be appointed.  Councilman Robert ‘Spanky’ Smith, Jacy Keef, Jennifer Price, Eric Collins and Amanda Marshall are being recommended.   The committee will look at estimated revenues and expenditure of an operating pool in addition to demolition construction and engineering costs associated with building a new pool.  They will explore financing, grants, and any required funding through tax increases.

The council will be asked to approve an amendment to the zoning code to allow front yard fences of between four and eight feet at the Plan and Zoning Commission’s sole discretion.   The planning commission approved the change.

The meeting begins at six Monday night at Centralia City Hall.
