Scooters Coffee Drive Thru’s are coming to Salem, Centralia, Mt. Vernon, Vandalia and two other communities.
Rachel Wallace who owns many of the Subway Restaurants in the area along with the Best Western and Rosati’s in Centralia is opening the new franchises in a partnership with her long time employee Marcie Wallace who is of no relation.
Rachel Wallace says Scooters has a great culture that has expanded rapidly.
“I think that we bring amazing coffee, drinks, food products, attitude and culture. It’s just fun to come to Scooters. You are going to get an amazingly quick drink experience through the drive thru. You will be in and out of there in less than 3 minutes and you will have the most wonderful drink that you could want.”
Each of the buildings will contain 660 square feet. Wallace anticipates 20 to 25 employees per store.
Wallace says the Salem Scooters will be constructed on a vacant lot she owns between the Subway and McDonald’s Restaurant. It is slated for construction next year.
Wallace is still working with the City of Centralia for the Centralia location. The Mt. Vernon location will be at the Veterans Drive Exit next to Culvers. A location has not yet been finalized in Vandalia.
Other new sites are planned in Harrisburg and Olney while a location in Mt. Carmel has just opened and two existing Scooters were purchased in Benton and West Frankfort.
