It took awhile for Franklin Park to get going in their home opener, but when they did, the really got it going.

After trailing 4-0 in the first, Salem responded with 9 runs in the 3rd inning to give them some breathing room, and that was more than enough for starter Avery Gullion.

After the 4 runs in the first, the right hander settled down over the next 4 innings allowing just 1 run and 2 hits while striking out 8 to earn the win.

At the plate, Evan Barnes and Keytin Grawe combined to drive in 7 runs on 5 hits.  Avery, Jaret Gibson, Landon Tennyson and Scout Puricelli also added RBI.  Payton Gullion added a hit and scored twice, Max Vincent singled and scored.

The Bobcats return to action today when they host Carlyle.
