2022 08/12 – Carl Lindell Anderson

Carl Lindell Anderson, 81, of Johnston City, formerly of Salem, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at 7:18 a.m., Saturday, August 6, 2022, at his home.

Lindell was born on August 14, 1940, in Marion to Carl “Preach” and Sylvia (Harris) Anderson. He was united in marriage to Merilee Anne Saxe on November 29, 1958, in Benton. They shared 63 years of marriage together.

Lindell was a 1958 graduate of Johnston City High School. He was retired having been an agency manager for Country Financial covering Jefferson and Marion Counties. In 1974, Lindell came back to Williamson County and continued building the Anderson family farm, while still managing Country Financial. Lindell was of the Baptist faith.

Lindell loved to tinker with cars. He enjoyed going to tractor pulls, deer hunting with his grandkids, and growing his family farm. He also enjoyed talking on the phone with his granddaughter and visiting with his friends.

Lindell is survived by his wife, Merilee Anderson of Johnston City;  son, Phil (Karen) Anderson of Johnston City; daughter, Tricia (Mark) Seely of Union, Missouri; four grandchildren, Brett (Lauren) Anderson of Marion, Grant (Savannah) Anderson of Johnston City, Taylor and Matthew Seely of Union, Missouri; great-granddaughter, Ava Jo Anderson of Marion; three brothers-in-law, Larry Trout of Johnston City, Tom (Susan) Saxe of Thompsonville and Larry (Sharon) Saxe of Morrisonville; one sister-in-law, Elaine (Norman) Hayden of Cape Girardeau, MO. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Lindell is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Peggy Trout.

The funeral service will be 12:00 p.m., Friday, August 12, 2022, at Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Ivan Ryan officiating and Eulogy given by his brother-in-law, Tom Saxe.  Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital. Envelopes will be available on the day of the service.   Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City is entrusted with the arrangements.
