The Senior Legion Great Lakes Regional opens up today in Michigan at Gerace Park on the campus of Northwoods University. The Illinois state runner up Moline opens up the tournament as they take on Eau Claire OS, the Wisconsin state champ. Then at 12:30 the Illinois state champion Aviston Express will take on the runner ups from Wisconsin, Manitowoc Post 88.
Game 3 features Muncie Post 19 of Indiana taking on Gladwin City Post 171 of Michigan at 4 followed by the final first round game of the double elimination tournament, the host Midland Post 165 taking on Yeager/Benson 199 of Ohio. The winners will play at 4 and 7:30 tomorrow while the losers drop to elimination games at 9:30 and 12:30. The tournament will continue all week until a champion is crowned on Sunday and they will advance to the Legion World Series in Shelby, North Carolina.
