Crossroads Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon has received a Five-Star overall hospital quality rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. That is the highest possible rating a hospital can achieve. CMS recently updated its Overall Hospital Quality Star Ratings for 2022, with only 429 hospitals nationwide receiving a five-star rating.
Chief Executive Officer William Davis says he cannot express how proud he is of the staff, nurses, and providers who work hard every day to care for their patients.
Director of Quality Michelle Darnell noted this is the first time Crossroads Community Hospital has received a Five-Star overall rating from CMS since the introduction of the rating system in 2016.
According to CMS, the 2022 Overall Star Rating selects 47 of the more than 100 measures CMS publicly reports on Care Compare and divides them into five measure groups: Mortality, Safety of Care, Readmission, Patient Experience, and Timely & Effective Care. Each hospital has a star rating that ranges from one to five stars, with five stars signifying the highest quality.
