Contractors working on ten million dollars in improvement projects at Salem Community High School this summer brought in a helicopter Friday to lift new heating and air conditioning units to the roof of the school.
Superintendent Dr. Brad Detering says each of the HVAC units weighed two tons. A total of 65 scheduled lifts were scheduled with the helicopter.
The work of the helicopter crew drew a small crowd to Bryan Memorial Park across the street to watch. Another crew was on the roof of the high school to help place and unlatch the unit.
The Salem Community High School campus was closed Friday to make sure everyone was clear of the helicopter.
