The City of Centralia issued ten building permits totaling $178,800 in May.
The largest permit was a $140,000 house to be constructed at 1224 North Elm. Another permit was granted to locate a mobile home at 17 D’Ann Drive. A $13,000 permit was issued for a shed at 402 South Janet. Other permits, all for $6,000 or less were for fences, awnings, sheds, and porch.
There were four demolition permits issued during the month. They were to tear down homes at 722 South Locust, 712 1/2 Cedar, and 102 South Elm as well as for a shed at 1 Holiday Terrace.
