A company that already provides fiber optic network services to schools and some businesses in Centralia are making plans to provide the service to every home and business in the city.

Mike Fallon of Clearwave Communications says the company has recently completed financial arrangements that will allow the company to run fiber to a half-million homes in the next five years.

“We absolutely want to start in our own backyard, places we already have significant amount of fiber in the ground.”

Fallon says the installation would occur sometime in 2023 and be completed in six months or less.

“Speeds of the network is going to be 10g capable so the latest and greatest technology.”

Fallon says installation of the fiber would be either in the ground or aerial depending on the neighborhood. He reported at this time they are not planning to build out into any of the rural areas.
