A 23-year-old Centralia man was injured in a single-car wreck in the 3600 block of Nation Road southwest of Salem early Sunday morning.
Elijah Cates of Fairway Drive went to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital on his own for treatment of injuries.
Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies say the crash occurred when Cates left the north side of the road while westbound and hit the ditch. His car then rolled before coming to rest on its wheels in a field.
The sheriff’s department was notified of the crash when a neighbor spotted a woman looking over the wreckage later Sunday morning.
Cates was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, no insurance, and leaving the scene of a personal injury crash.
The crash is believed to have occurred around six Sunday morning.
